Abstract :
Mass-producible multimode fibre optic tree couplers based on nonimaging optic expanders have been fabricated and tested. Three tree prototypes were fabricated: 1*19, 1*64, and 1*88 using, respectively, 400 mu m/2 mm, 200 mu m/2 mm, and 140 mu m/1.5 mm beam expanders. Good output uniformity and low excess loss are practical.
