Abstract :
For original paper see ibid., vol.27, no.5, p.396 (1991). Reduced models obtained by truncating a continued fraction expansion in third Cauer form are, in general, good approximations of the original transient and steady-state responses. This is a consequence of the retention of some Markov parameters and of some time moments of the original model. Although this procedure can only be applied to stable models and does not guarantee the reduced model stability, it is of interest and an algorithm such as the one presented in the original article is of great value. Some mistakes, however, seem to be made.
