Abstract
Demand for wireless communication has increased significantly, on the other hand, the frequency band available for wireless communication is scarce. Use of wireless communication in the TV white spaces (TVWS) has been promoted in various countries, and primary user protection is mandatory. Particularly, very strict transmit spectrum mask is configured by FCC in USA. In order to effective use of TVWS, this paper proposes a transmit power control method based on adaptive time-domain windowing processing for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based wireless communication systems operating in TVWS. The proposed transmit power control scheme provides the appropriate transmit spectrum to meet the required transmit spectrum mask regulation and the maximum throughput under the given environment without any special processing at the receiver side. The proposed scheme will contribute to the realization of the wireless communication systems operating in the TVWS.
