Abstract :
This paper introduces the technical details for a low-cost digital BTSC compatible encoder implementation for consumer equipment. It presents the reciprocal index lookup table technique, a key enabling technology for efficient logic implementation of the variable spectral compressor, and includes a tutorial on the design of gate-efficient audio filters in digital logic
