  • Abstract
For several decades, in our country, the engineering schools have trained numerous engineers, with great technical ability but without any professional experience or any current contact with Industries. They have to find their first job by themselves and by their chance, without any kind of help or orientación. Because of the crisis that currently exists in Spain and also, in several countries worldwide, it is even harder, for the postgraduates, acquires their first contact with job-market. From our Research Group “INARdesign” belonging to the School of Industrial Engineering (University of Vigo), we have participated in a research Project, in which, we try to develop a model, consisting of the implementation of a system of Mentoring, between the graduate, the College, the employment and also the industry, so that their actions synchronized, facilitates the incorporation of postgraduates into the job-market. It seems logical that the University, the birthplace of these postgraduates, who has dedicated lot of time to their training, takes one step more and assume a new challenge: the link between universities and the job market This, it could be done, creating figures as Mentor at the University and as Tutor at the Industry, in this case the Tutors shall be from the Technical Unit of the Universities or any other scientific or nonprofit Companies and create a collaboration model to facilitate the student´s first contact with daily problems on the job-market Once, this new model has been developed, also it has been implemented through several pilot projects in order to validate it. In order to do it, it has been suggested several lines of performances, regarding important matters nowadays; in this case, it is proposed to the University of Vigo, some themes called energy efficiency of existing buildings.
