  • Abstract
    The limitation of undesirable low-frequency effects generated by electrical appliances connected to the mains supply is considered. If an appliance draws harmonic current from the mains, in general it contributes to the deterioration of the quality of the sinewave supplied by the mains. The article considers these effects and examines the regulatory regime that seeks to limit the increase in mains harmonic distortion.
