Abstract :
A strong correlation between the C-band ERS-1 windscatterometer (WSC) backscatter and local precipitation in Guyana has been observed. The effect on the correlation of incidence angle and local time is also examined. Characterizing such fluctuations may be useful for precise calibration of active microwave instruments
