Abstract :
Beamforming through a circular pipe with two open ends is investigated. A formulation is presented for one-way beamforming through a pipe and demonstrated through simulation. One-way beamforming is then extended to two-way beamforming and applied to backscattering data from a target. Backscattering data are processed using beamforming to obtain target azimuth information. With the addition of frequency diversity, a two-dimensional image is obtained. Two-way beamforming is demonstrated through simulation and measurement.
