Abstract :
Recent revolutions in wireless communications have stimulated advanced research in several key technologies. Antennas, propagation and electronics are among the top fields to attract substantial current research. Needless to say, the antenna is a key element of any wireless device. The emergence of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems has generated remarkable interest in designing small-size wide-/multi-band antennas for use in mobile systems. Smart antenna systems use antenna arrays at the base stations of wireless communication systems, and adjust their radiation patterns following channel time variations.
