            Abstract :
The accurate representation of the effects of the exterior region in an unbounded field problem solved by a finite-element procedure is considered. Most procedures require additions to the basic finite-element method. An approach is presented that can yield good results without any code modification and can be used directly with many existing finite-element systems. The method is outlined briefly, its implementations in current CAD systems are described, and illustrations of its use are provided
