640 Gbit/s (32 channel×20 Gbit/s) WDM transmission with 0.4 (bit/s)/Hz spectral efficiency is demonstrated using short-period dispersion-managed fibre (Perfect CableTM). The average Q-factor was measured to be better than 18 dB after transmission over 280 km
