Abstract :
In this paper, we propose and analyze efficient frame synchronization and frequency offset compensation scheme with ternary sequences for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system in Rayleigh fading channels. In order to enhance performance on frame synchronization and frequency offset compensation, we add a ternary sequence to OFDM signals in the time domain. The performance is evaluated in terms of correlation characteristics and r.m.s frequency error. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme achieve improved performance compared with the existing schemes. The results of the paper can find its applications to design of synchronization block of OFDM scheme for wireless multimedia communication services.
