Abstract :
This work presents a study on the influence of the main operating variables on the gas turbine cycle. A numerical simulation of a gas turbine cycle is performed for a net power of 100 MW. A calculation code is developed using EES software. The operating variables for values usually adopted for the various designs of gas turbine cycles. The optimal values of the process variables are defined. We obtain that the efficiency of the gas turbine cycle increases with the decrease of the temperature and with the increase of the pressure ratio. Increasing the air excess is slightly increase the efficiency.
