Abstract :
A small square slot antenna with circular polarisation characteristics for WLAN/WiMAX applications is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a microstrip feed line and a ground plane with a novel slot configuration which provides usable circular polarisation characteristics on the WLAN/WiMAX frequency bands. By optimising the length of the feed line, the total bandwidth of the antenna is greatly improved. Moreover, the desired circular polarisation characteristics are obtained by adjusting the number of slot arms in the ground plane. The designed antenna has a small size of 30 ?? 30 ?? mm2.
