Abstract :
The economic load dispatch (ELD) problem with prohibited-zones was conventionally formulated by means of multiple disjoint constraints. Proposed is an approach to convert these constraints into a single formulation, which simplifies the representation of ELD models and expedites the implementation of their algorithms. This type of conversion would play a pivotal role to invoke representative optimisation procedures in an engineering software package.
