Abstract :
Parasitic resistance of the coil and the compensating capacitor is often inappropriately neglected in leakage inductance compensation for a loosely coupled transformer. Suggested is a pragmatic way to model the load voltage and the system efficiency against compensating reactance provided that the relationship between the reactance and the equivalent series resistance is measured. The proper compensating factors could then be selected according to the contour of these functions. Thus, adequate trade-off could be made considering power and efficiency simultaneously.
