Abstract :
The peer-to-peer and ad-hoc networking allows content dissemination and sharing among mobile devices without depending on any infrastructure. However, mobile devices still encounter content sharing issues in highly dense networks. Therefore, we develop a new architecture which creates self-organizing ad-hoc network with content centric networking over Wi-Fi Direct on smartphones. It enables nodes to build multiple groups using different channels for providing Wi-Fi Direct based multi-hop communications. The proposed architecture can achieve not only power efficiency for energy constrained devices but content sharing efficiency from content-centric networking properties. Our simulation study using NS-3 with CCNx shows significantly improved performance of the proposed solution.
