Abstract :
In general, the vein pattern in a finger vein image is not distinctive owing to light scattering through the skin layer, which makes detection of the finger vein region difficult. To solve this problem, a new finger vein image restoration method is proposed. Experimental results show that the equal error rate of finger vein recognition with the proposed restoration method is 0.76% and that without it is 1.35%.
