Abstract :
A simple and efficient continuously tunable wavelength converter for any arbitrary input and output wavelengths is presented. Conversion efficiency higher than -5-dB over 30-nm, owing to a dispersion-decreasing highly nonlinear fibre with stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) suppressed by distributed strain, is reported.
