Abstract :
The design, construction, and experimental investigation of a full-scale superconducting rectifier is described. A short description of the principles of superconducting rectifiers is given. The results of the experiments are very satisfactory. The main goal, to establish the reliability of the superconducting rectifier as power supply for an MRI magnet system, was fully achieved. The demonstrated behavior of the rectifying system was as theoretically expected
