Abstract :
For most people, three dimensional (3-D) is just another example of "movie magic." Yet for the researchers developing and refining the 3-D technologies behind today\´s big-screen block busters, as well as for applications in a variety of other fields, the work is very real and decidedly non-magical. Beyond entertainment, 3-D technology is finding a place in such diverse fields as engineering, chemistry, and security.
