Abstract
“Membership in the AIEE is a very important facet of my professional life. Being an electrical engineer engaged in the electronics field generally, and in the communications area specifically, and even more specifically the mobile communications field, it would be very easy to be interested solely in organizations that are directed at the immediate area of interest. However, the AIEE, because of its broad interests serves as the link that ties together a multitude of highly specialized branches of electrical engineering. It provides the practicing engineer with a means for keeping abreast of major progress in the entire field of electrical engineering. As the art of applying and controlling electrical energy advances, the need for interchange of information between fields becomes ever more important.”
