Abstract :
PTN (Packet Transport Network) network supports multiple services, including legacy TDM service. Clock recovery mechanism is essential technology for TDM over packet networks. In this paper, a novel buffer level clock recovery method, called Zigzag is proposed. The new method not only removes the negative contribution of packet delay jitter but also takes an effective operation to keep the buffer size small, and reduce the buffering delay of the incoming packets.
