Abstract
Networking community is largely depending on simulation to evaluate the performance and behavior of protocols for networks. A network simulator is a program which models the behavior of a network without an actual network being present. Different network simulation tools have been developed during the past years in the field of communication. In this article, present a comparison and simulation study of Adhoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) MANET routing protocol in two discrete event network simulators namely: NS2 and NS3. The goal is to simulate the performance and compare the two popular network simulators NS2 and NS3 with different aspects. The PING command is also considered as an application level for simulation of AODV routing protocol in MAENT environment.
