Abstract :
A method for determining limit cycles in digital filters due to rounding or truncation is presented. The model proposed by D.S.K. Chan (1978, 1980) is used to determine the bounds of limit cycle oscillations. Then the approach is extended by two additional steps in order to obtain closer bounds. Finally, the maximum limit cycle oscillation can be computed
