Abstract
Decoding concatenated codes with an iterative decoder including a stopping criterion saves power compared to decoding with a fixed number of iterations. In this work the throughput of the decoder is also increased. This is achieved by using additional buffers at the decoder input and a modified stopping criterion. Simulations demonstrate that this method can double the throughput compared to the conventional decoding algorithm
