Abstract :
Properties of a H¿01¿E¿01 mode transducer constructed to excite dielectric rod aerials in E01 mode at X-band have been studied by Deschamps method. Scattering parameters, launching efficiency, etc. of the mode transducer are compared with those of a H¿01¿H¿11 mode transducer used for exciting a dielectric rod aerial in HE11 mode. Expressions for the scattering matrix (¿) of the dielectric rod and launching efficiency are derived.
