Abstract :
A concept for broadband wide area networking based on IP over ATM over extremely-high-frequency Ka-band satellite communication is presented. The concept is primarily intended to support broadcast of data and video, fast Internet, access and teleconsultation with an interactive whiteboard. Operation from mid-sized terminals to small highly transportable terminals at remote facilities is envisioned
