Abstract :
There are two switches controlling the firing of the canopy and the ejector seat of a jet-fighter. Obviously, the sequence in which these switches are activated is critical to the pilot´s well-being! However, given the tense situations under which these switches need to be thrown, the possibility of pilot error is very real. So the question is: how could the switches be wired to prevent mistakes? One answer is to have DPST (double-pole single throw) switches wired to implement a logic OR function that fires the canopy, this then powers a logic AND function that then fires the ejection seat.
