Abstract :
This article discusses about the development of a range of fabrication technologies that enable the construction of a sophisticated system for the detection of glucose from the tear film. It also demonstrates the operation of a sensor with enough sensitivity to function on the surface of the eye. Currently, work is being done on integrating these sensors with the related control circuitry on contact lenses. These functional contact lenses hold much promise in biomedical research and patient care in the near future.
