Abstract
This paper describes the use of smart phones in the processing and analysis of vital physiological signs like ECG, PPG and temperature. These signals are, after pre-processing, imported via microphone port to the mobile device and further processed by Android application. In addition to the collection and visualization, the application performs the detections of QRS complexes and PPG local maxima in order to determine heart rate, rhythm abnormalities, PTT interval, blood pressure as well as on-demand temperature measurement. The system operates in real time, behind a low occupation of the processor resources. The operational principle, system architecture and preliminary testing results are presented.
