Abstract :
A transformer with two overlapping windings etched on either side of a planar substrate is presented in this paper. It performs an impedance transformation with a 3.3 ratio within a small area. A simple model is derived, based on well-known formulas for transmission lines and inductance factors of multiple conductors. Magnetic and electric coupling are analyzed separately. An experiment shows a good accuracy for this model
