Abstract :
The basics of radiation interaction with the chemical structure of some common polymers are presented. Polymer chain crosslinking and scission, the two principal effects, are described, and stabilization of polymers to radiation is discussed. Effects of dose-rate temperature during radiation on service endurance are considered.<>
