Abstract :
The educational establishment is still the main place for engineering students to learn. This paper first reviews the disadvantages of requiring students to learn in this kind of environment, which is characterised by a fixed physical construction and location, and a fixed timetable. These disadvantages include limitations in curriculum planning inflexibility in the arranging of activities, and restricted opportunities for students to develop diverse interests and make discoveries outside university. The paper also discusses how the environment should be reconstructed to overcome these disadvantages
