Abstract :
The paper presents a variational formulation for a junction between collinear rectangular and circular waveguides coupled through a rectangular slot in the common transverse wall. The equivalent circuit, taking the effect of wall thickness into account, is determined. Numerical results on admittance loading, the reflection coefficient and the input VSWR are evaluated, and a comparison between the theoretical and experimental results on the variation of the VSWR with frequency is presented
