Abstract :
For those engineers and contractors used to traditional procurement methods, PFI agreements can come as something of a surprise. There are new terms to be understood, and a different overall philosophy. This article looks at the structure of a typical PFI project, steps in the bidding process, and examines some areas where engineering and building contractors will be asked to take on greater risks than they are used to bearing.
