Abstract :
The use of ac arc plasma involves a problem of instability of the arc plasma at current zero point. A method for stabilizing the transferred-type ac arc plasma has been developed by superimposing a pulse current on an ac current only at each current zero point. In this paper, a high-speed observation of the ac arc plasma is carried out in order to investigate on the stabilization of the ac arc plasma by superimposing a pulse current.
