Abstract
We investigate the effect of a magnetic field (MGF) on atmospheric-air dc discharges in cylindrical configuration. We found that the negative corona discharge in a streamer regime application of the MGF causes rotation of streamers around the axis of the discharge chamber, spreading of the discharge, and, consequently, its homogenization. Similar results were obtained for the atmospheric-pressure glow discharge.
