Abstract
The paper reviews the changes brought about by the 1930 Coal Mines Act; discusses the requirements of the power producer as regards coal quality; makes proposals as to what should be covered by conditions of sale; advances proposals as to the elimination of foreign matter before coal is marketed; and comments on the useful purpose that reserve stocks can be made to serve.
