Abstract
The cascaded ac module integrated converter (MIC) based photovoltaic (PV) generation system features single stage power conversion with high efficiency, transformerless grid connection, and individual maximum power point tracking (MPPT). However, conventional centralized control method needs complex wire connection for transmitting data and command. In addition, the burden of the central controller increases when the number of modules becomes large. Furthermore, the installation cost also increases significantly. In order to solve these issues, this paper proposes a novel decentralized architecture and control scheme. Detailed analysis, simulation, and experimental results are provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
