Abstract :
The stability criterion of A.K. Haddad (1972) is used to show a unique stability relationship between a class of nonlinear lumped-parameter systems and a class of nonlinear distributed-parameter systems. It is shown that the stability of a particular nonlinear lumped-parameter system implies the stability of a related nonlinear distributed-parameter system. In some cases, the stability conditions thus obtained for the nonlinear distributed-parameter system are less conservative than those obtained by other stability criteria. An example is given
