ABC´s of ultrasonics, by Alan Andrews, gives the reader an over-all look at ultrasonics, the science of sound. The first chapter explains the frequency range of ultrasonics, the terminology, and the two kinds of wave behavior, cavitation and echo ranging. Applications such as cleaning, degassing, thickness and distance measurement, testing, machining, welding, soldering, medical uses, alarm systems, and liquid-level indicators are discussed.
