Abstract :
We demonstrate rational harmonic mode-locking of a fiber optical parametric oscillator (FOPO) in which the parametric gain serves as an all-optical mode-locker. A pulse train with a repetition rate from 10 to 30 GHz is generated using a 10-GHz optical clock signal. The generated pulses have a pulsewidth of ~ 9 ps, a root-mean-square (RMS) timing jitter of ~ 300 fs, and a wavelength tunable to more than 20 nm.
