Abstract :
The suitability of very-small-aperture terminal systems for various applications is examined, and its relative advantages compared to fiber-optic technology are identified. Application-sensitive multiplexing and protocol issues are discussed. Broadcast, asymmetric, and transaction networks are considered in the context of the intended application.<>
