Abstract :
Nationwide installation and maintenance of very-small-aperture terminals (VSATs) for satellite communication are explored. Installation methods are discussed, and the cost of installing a VSAT earth station is projected. Included in the discussion are the following issues: (1) how to overcome the local zoning and landlord objections; (2) how to get the material to the roof; (3) how to install the antenna without damaging the roof; (4) where to run the cable; and (5) how to do this when each site has its own installation environment and still hold the price of installation within reasonable bounds.<>
