Abstract :
One of my last acts as EIC for the AES Transactions is a happy one: I am able to announce the winner of the 2009 M. Barry Carlton Award, the acknokwledgment we give to the Transactions´ Best Paper of the Year. I am very pleased to report that the 2009 Carlton Award goes to John Betz of MITRE Corporation, and to Kevin Kolodziejski of Raytheon. Actually this Best Paper is really two papers: the Generalized Theory of Code Tracking with an Early-Late Discriminator Part I: Lower Bound and Coherent Processing, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, Volume 45, Number 4, pp. 1538–1556, October 2009; and the Generalized Theory of Code Tracking with an Early-Late Discriminator Part II: Noncoherent Processing ad Numerical Results, of the same issue, pp. 1556–1564.
