            Abstract : 
Long-term resistance of Co2+-doped fibre attenuators exposed to gamma-ray irradiation was investigated. The attenuation increase during 25 years is predicted to be 0.004 dB for a 20 dB attenuator, which consists of a 1.5 dB/m attenuation fibre, in the worst case encountered in undersea conditions
