Baffle them with baloney. This well-known saying usually ends with an earthier word. I first heard this expression in school and have since come to realize it applies most everywhere, including in our engineering lives. Often engineers and engineering managers use trendy terminology, not necessarily to hide something but to make something mundane sound more impressive. I´ve indulged in the practice myself, so be on the lookout for trendy buzzwords. They should prompt you to examine how they are being used. Here´s my list of terms I´ve frequently seen misappropriated.
