Abstract :
A technique is proposed for the dynamic estimation of the Rice factor K, based on the ratio of energy per bit to noise spectral density (Eb/No) and uncoded bit error rate. A performance assessment is presented and it is shown that K can be estimated with sufficient accuracy for use in adaptive air-interface schemes
