Abstract :
Tensor magnetic hysteresis loops for a 25.4 mm (1 inch) ferrite permanent magnet cube have been measured. A hysteresis model based on the Atherton-Beattie model has been developed to explain the measured full tensor hysteresis loops. Both mean field interactions and irreversible Stoner-Wohlfarth type switching are used to account for the observed magnetic hysteresis. The non-zero off-diagonal loops originate from the small deviation of the sample easy axis from the cube edge direction. The magnetic easy axis of the sample can be readily determined from the tensor hysteresis loops
